Shivratri
This is another widely celebrated festival, particularly in the areas where many Hindus live. Lord Shiva, the main god of the Hindus of Kinnaur, is worshipped on this occasion. Fairs are also held in large villages and towns during Shivratri.

People from each household take a ritual bath in a stream or in the Satluj River on this occasion. After this, they fast for the whole day, eating a specially prepared feast at night.

The shivling is worshipped on this occasion. Food made from flour is placed round the shivling by a person who has bathed in the river and brought flowers and leaves with him.
