The Himalayas - where earth meets sky
Indian Himalayas - Kinnaur

Baisakhi
Baisakhi or Beash is the first festival of the Vikram Samvat year celebrated every year on the first day of the Baisakh month (mid-April).

Fairs are held locally either in small towns or in large villages.

Prayers are conducted in the local temple and the image of the goddess is brought out to the village courtyard where a fair is held. The Kinners gather in colorful dresses and drink and dance. This festival also marks the end of the winter season.
