Fulaunchi
The festivals known as Fulaunchi (flower picking) is celebrated in September, which is the ideal time for the alpine flowers to bloom. The local deity "Ushadevi" is decorated with fragrant multicolored flowers. The people have complete faith in the deity, and obtain her blessings for the happiness of their family. Ushadevi is supposed to be the daughter of the 'goddess Hidimba' of Manali, which boasts 14 brass idols of the deity. People from far away places gather together and trek to distant high meadows to collect rare varieties of fragrant and multi- colored high altitude flowers. Brahm Kamal and blue poppies are offered as garlands to the deity.
