The Himalayas - where earth meets sky
Indian Himalayas - Chamba

General info
The Chamba Valley lies in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. This district consists mainly of the valley of the Ravi -- which forms part of the Indus River system -- and the Brahmour. It is a region enclosed by two spur ranges of the Great Himalayan range -- The Dhauladhar and the Pangi -- Pir Panjal ranges.

While the Pir Panjal range runs towards the north, the Dhauladhar is the first granite range in the system when approached from the south. And it is between these two ranges that the River Ravi, a major tributary of the Indus, has carved its valley.
