The park contains the spectacular Fish River Canyon, a wonder of nature. It is about 160 km long, up to 27 km wide and about 550m deep at its deepest point. Its fantastic views make it a popular destination. While visitors can observe the vistas from the road, there is a popular hiking route, which takes four to five days. This route is, however, open only from 3 May to 30 September. Visitors are recommended to carry their own supplies.
