Located in the Northern Kwazulu Natal in South Africa, next to the Mozambique border, is a small but beautiful reserve: the Ndumo Game Reserve. Covering an area of about 10,117 hectares, Ndumo's fig tree forests and large pans are home to about 420 species of bird. Other wildlife in the park includes the nyala, white and black rhino, hippo, and waterbuck, suni and other antelopes. The reserve provides accommodation in the form of cottages equipped with refrigerators. Game viewing drives, walks and hides enable visitors to view the wildlife. Precautions against malaria are necessary. The park is open throughout the year. © Copyright 1998, ThinkQuest team 16645 All rights reserved. http://library.advanced.org |
