Comoé National park

Located 567 km from Abidjan is the Comoé National Park - the largest game park in West Africa. It lies in the northeastern part of Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) and covers an area of about 11,500 square kilometers of savanna, forests and grassland. The Comoé River runs from the northwestern part of the park southwards. One of the tracks in the park follows the river. Visitors can observe lions in the southern part of the river. Other animals that can be seen include the elephant, 21 species of pigs, green monkey, hippo, Anubis baboo, black and white Colobus, waterbuck, kob, roan, antelopes. Leopards are a rare sighting in the park. Visitors can, however, observe a large variety of birds - over 400 species have been recorded. Tourists can visit the park from December to May. Visitors can stay at hotels or camp in the region.
