Indian Himalayas - Ladakh

Glaciers and Rivers of Ladakh
Located at the foot of the Karakoram, Ladakh is the ideal location for a large number of glaciers that in turn give rise to a number of rivers draining the region. Rivers originating in the Trans Himalayas, such as the Indus, flow through the region and cut their way through the main Himalayan range before reaching the plains.
