Located in Northern Botswana, the Nxai Pan National Park covers an area about 2,590 square kilometers, comprising mainly forest and savanna woodland and large areas of grassland. The park offers accommodation at two small camping sites, where water is available. There are two Pans: Nxai, which is a fossil lake bed about 15 km wide and covered with short grass, and Kgama-Kgama. Visitors can visit the park throughout the year and take advantage of the game viewing track (suitable for 4X4 vehicles) to view a variety of wildlife such as the lion, leopard, wild dog, cheetah, springbok, gemsbok, large herds of wildebeest and zebra, giraffe, brown and spotted hyena, and eland and other antelopes. Moreover, visitors need to take proper precautions against malaria and take measures to protect themselves against dangerous animals while camping. Camping sites are not fenced.
