Cuba has many hotel rooms and is building more as part of the government's drive to develop the island's potential for tourism.  You can stay in hotels, but there are other options as well.

Hotels can be found in any area where tourism is common.  They are given ratings based on the star system, and many are not as nice as in other countries.

However, some new hotels are springing up in Cuba meant to attract affluent business travelers and foreigners.  These hotels are well designed and offer standard services.

Many hotels have swimming pools and restaurants.  Almost all are air conditioned as well.

Many foreign companies are joining the Cuban Government in joint ventures to construct new international quality hotels.  The Melia Cohiba in Havana is the best example of this, but other companies from other countries are also taking advantage of this opportunity.

Prices for normal hotels are not high.  Some may be as low as US$10 to $15, but others can be over $100.  Cost will depend on the quality of the hotel and the season of your visit.
