Exchange of Currency Normally, trekkers are advised to take travelers' checks instead of cash. But to exchanging foreign travelers' check may pose problems at remote places in the Himalayas where the banks may refuse to accept them. Hence before leaving for the mountains foreign travelers' checks should be exchanged for Indian or Nepalese currency.
