 Hi , we are the grade 6d class and we would like the rest of the school to help us save our rainforests. Here is some of the information we collected to make our schoolmates aware of what we are trying to do .

Rainforests are well known for their variety of plant and animal life . Due to the high levels of solar energy (sun) and water available, they are among the most productive ecosystems in the world, with levels of productivity more than double those found in temperate regions. It is thought that the forests may contain about 60 per cent of all the plants on Earth, together with 90 per cent of primate species, 40 per cent of bird species, and 80 per cent of all insects. Individual forest stands may contain as many as 200 different species of trees in a single hectare.
