ICT Skills for Teachers
Design a poster (Beginner level)
As an educator you may want to design a poster to highlight important facts and/or concepts in your subject in the language and context your learners will understand. You can print this on many pages and you can glue then together for a big class poster. You will use Microsoft Publisher to create this poster.
By the end of this task you could achieve the following outcomes:
- Create a poster of your choice using the Microsoft Publisher.
- Choose the layout and size for your poster
- Add a border of any colour or width
- Choose a font you like and change the size
- Add pictures and resize them
- Save your work
Create your own poster - one which you will find useful. Alternatively, follow this example. To do so you would typically work through the following steps:
1. | Start Microsoft Publisher. See how » |
2. | Select a publication type: A blank publication gives you room to express your own creativity. See how » |
3. | Select the layout and size: Think carefully about the intended audience and how easily they will be able to read your message. See how » |
4. | Add a border: A border defines the poster area - it is optional. |
5. | Choose a suitable font: Remember the font must be age appropriate and big enough to be seen across the room. See how » |
6. | Add a picture: Change the size of the picture so that it is visible from across the room. See how » |
7. | Save the file: Admire your work! Save your work regularly. |
8. | Print the file: Print the poster. Note: the poster will print as many pages - glue these toegther to build up the poster. |
