The
Khoe Mattress
The Khoe-Khoe
used Hottentotskooigoed for mattresses, they used to squash it up and put
it under animal skins which they used as bedding they also used it as an
insect repellant and a tea made from the leaves is good for the treatment
of heart ailments. This plant is soft and springy so it was very
comfortable and the Khoe-Khoe didn't have to worry about the insects bothering
them.
