Mrs Nunneley made Pumpkin Fritters for us.  We loved them best with cinnamon sugar!

The fairy godmother asked Cinderella
To get her a pumpkin,
Because she wanted to make it into a carriage
For Cinderella to go to the palace so she could dance with the prince,
On Saturday night.

Written by: Sara-Jane, Vuyakazi, Natalie,
Rosemary M, and Madeleine.

We
Ate pumpkin fritters with sugar and cinnamon
Because it tastes delicious
In a big, smart restaurant
At Saturday lunchtime.

Farmer Macdonald grows pumpkins
Because he likes to eat them
When they are ripe, for his dinner.
His wife makes pumpkin pie
In the big farm kitchen.

Pumpkin
Is growing
Up into the sky

Travel Buddies (Snoepie and Pinky)

Grade 1 hosted a travel buddy from Haarlem in the Netherlands.  Snoepie, a big fluffy white polar bear came from de Wadden School and went home with each girl in the class.  He has now gone back to Haarlem with a diary about his holiday.  In exchange we sent Pinky to de Wadden School and he came back in September.

[Apples]

An Apple a Day

1997

[Apples]

This is our first Internet project.
The objectives are to:-

 1. Develop reading and writing skills.
2. Enrich our appreciation of poetry.
3. Show our work on the WWW.

We wrote Sensory poems. If you would like to read our poems and see a graphic we made for the project visit the Apple a Day site.  We did a survey in class and found that most girls like Golden Delicious apples. Only one girl likes Granny Smith apples. A few like Starking.

Our mothers made our favourite recipes using apples:- Toffee Apples, Apple Cake, Apple Pudding, Apple Pie, Apple Tart, Apple Crumble and Apple Strudel. We had a taste of each and the most popular was Apple Pudding.

We did Apple sums too!
