Designing and creating a website
6. Creating a home page

2 hours

The home page is important because this is the first time that users will view your Web site. So you want to attract their attention.

The purpose of this activity is for you to design a home page that will have the same general design elements of all the other pages. However, a home page does not have to look exactly the same as your template. It can have a simpler, less cluttered look and is normally dominated by an image rather than text.

Follow these steps to complete these activities. Look for contexts that are meaningful to you in your classroom.
