Step 2: Reflecting on Your Thought Process

Discuss with the group the following questions to help you reflect on your experience with the tool.

  • What kind of evidence was most convincing in its support of your claim?

  • What did you learn from the evidence that opposed the claim? What valid points did it raise?

  • Did the Showing Evidence Tool help you (and your team member, if you worked with a colleague) discuss and evaluate your assessment ideas?

  • What additional evidence did you add to the Evidence Bin?

  • What did you conclude about the claim(s)?

  • In what ways do you think the Showing Evidence Tool would be beneficial to learners who are analyzing or developing an argument, hypothesis, experiment, or controversial issue?
