Hints

  • Note that there are two criteria referring to ICT - relevance and innovative use
  • Quite often ICT is used to engage the learners, but does not necessarily enhance the learning - in this situation it is not considered relevant.
  • Using office applications in the classroom is no longer considered innovative in world terms, but may be innovative for a specific educator in a largely non-technical environment. We refer to this as context
  • The use of standard office applications is not innovative, it needs to be used innovatively (Excel in Student Council Elections)
  • Innovation potential lies in simple peripheral resources (Clipart in Spellbound Spelling)
  • The Awards are not technology centred. Sophisticated use of robots and ICT (Don Quixote) is still subject to scrutiny on all other innovation criteria - it has to be a great educational project as well.
