Design a poster (Beginner level)

As a principal you may want to create a poster to highlight important inspirational thoughts to your staff and learners. You could print this on many pages and you can glue then together for a big poster. You will use Microsoft Publisher to create this poster.

By the end of this task you could achieve the following outcomes:

Download an example - Create a poster of your choice using the Microsoft Publisher.
- Choose the layout and size for your poster
- Add a border of any colour or width
- Choose a font you like and change the size
- Add pictures and resize them
- Save your work

Create your own poster - one which you will find useful. Alternatively, follow this example. To do so you would typically work through the following steps:

1. Start Microsoft Publisher. See how »
2. Select a publication type: A blank publication gives you room to express your own creativity. See how »
3. Select the layout and size: Think carefully about the intended audience and how easily they will be able to read your message.
4. Add a border: A border defines the poster area - it is optional.
5. Choose a suitable font: Remember the font must be age appropriate and big enough to be seen across the room.
6. Add a picture: Change the size of the picture so that it is visible from across the room. See how »
7. Save the file: Admire your work! Save your work regularly.
8. Print the file: Print the poster. Note: the poster will print as many pages - glue these toegther to build up the poster.
