The school started as Ntshonalanga Senior Secondary School in 1994 under
the leadership of MR Makhosana. The name itself was relevant because the
school was platooning at two local primary schools namely Mzamomhle and
Siyazakha P.P. School. Our grade 8 to 10 were accommodated at Mzamomhle
whilst grade 11 to 12 were housed at Siyazakha.
As one of the school that began during the back to school campaign,
we started with an enrolment of 1800 learners, a majority of
which skipped grades. Only 37 educatiors were responsible for these learners
and these adverse conditions never deterred these tireless educatiors from
striving for success.
Sinethemba, as the school later became to be known as, came into existance
in 1996 when the school building was constructed through the tireless efforts
of the PTSA that sometimes emanited to the occupation of DET offices. It's
from these humble beginnings and commitment that Sinethemba is what it
is today.
