By Claire Hanley

Kirstenbosch in Cape Town is famous for its flowers. There are over 2000 different kinds of flowers in Kirstenbosch. It is also famous for its walks up Table Mountain. The Cape Peninsula is part of the Cape Floral Kingdom, the smallest of the world's six Floral Kingdoms. The main type of vegetation is called Fynbos it is made up of proteas, ericas and reeds. My family and I go there to look at the wonderful flowers and trees and watch the concerts. These concerts draw big of crowds - I know because I was there once.

TOWN

Cape Town was founded in 1652. It now has a population of almost 3 million. The Water Front is the most popular place in the city, followed by Table Mountain and Cape Point. The Waterfront has lots of shops and restaurants and a close link with the sea - yachts, tugs, trawlers and cruises.
