FrontPage - Inserting hyperlinks to another web site


The virtue of the World Wide Web is its ability to make connections to other resources on the Internet.

To insert a hyperlink to another web site

Select the words which must act as the hyperlink, in this case the words Eskom.

Click on the hyperlink icon on the menu bar.

The Picture dialogue box opens.  In the URL box key in the web address of the required site.  Make sure it begins with http://  Click OK.

 

In Page view the text appears blue because it is a hyperlink.  To check if it is hyperlinked, put the cursor in the hyperlinked word and look at the bottom left hand side of the screen.  A line of text indicating the URL should appear. 

       

Viewing that page with Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator the Eskom hyperlink is underlined in blue to indicate that it is a hyperlink.  When clicked or activated it will link to the Eskom electricity site.
