A colour background gives interest to a web page.  It can be used to enhance a set of pages or a subsection within the site, to enhance a particular theme or idea. 

To add a background colour to a page

Click on Format on the menu bar, and then Background.

On the Page Properties dialogue box, select the required colour for the background.  Text colour can also be selected.  Click OK.

This page has been given a background colour and the text has also had its colour changed.
