How to use autofill:
To fill in a column or row with the same
number or word
Type in one cell the number or word
required. Select the cell. Move the mouse to the bottom
right hand corner of the cell. The mouse pointer changes to
the autofill handle.
Hold down the mouse and pull in a straight
line for the required number of cells. Autofill copies
the number or word.

To extend the series in a column
or row
Type in two cells the first words
or numbers of the series required. It is necessary to
type in two cells to guide the software in the kind
of series required.
Select the two cells. Move the mouse
to the bottom right hand corner of the cells. The mouse
pointer changes to the autofill handle.
Hold down the mouse and pull in a straight
line for the required number of cells.

Format
Excel 'knows' the type of words required.
If you start with a certain format it follows that particular
format as seen in the days, months and terms.
You must type the first value, for instance Monday, then click on any other cell before going back to the cell containing "Monday". Then use the autofill to complete the list.
