SchoolNet SA has always been involved in cutting edge initiatives that use innovative approaches to enhance digital learning. SchoolNet’s core focus is transformation through digital learning. We advocate learning approaches that engage learners and the use of digital tools and resources to motivate teachers and senior managers to improve their practice. SchoolNet’s work falls into the following roles: advocacy related to the effective use of technology in teaching and learning; the evaluation of learning gains in schools adopting technologies; nurturing of an ICT-confident professional learning community of teachers; managing and sustaining high quality professional development interventions; and, developing courseware that includes leadership and management, teacher education in technology integration across the curriculum, youth development, community centre management and women’s empowerment.
