Designing Educational Games

This is what happened:

In this school the Grade 5 and Grade 6 learners designed educational games, printed them in colour and laminated them. They then visited the pre-schools in the community and delivered the games, staying to play the games with the pre-school children.

Themes: Content, Community

Commentary:

This project is a good example of two themes, simply executed. In creating these laminated board games the learners were creating content that could be used by others. In order to do this they needed to understand the needs of the community pre-schools and the levels of learning of pre-schoolers.

The fact that they went into the community and personally visited these pre-schools and spent time with the pre-school learners makes this a good example of a community project as well.
