Vuwane Community Resource Centre

The University of Venda, acts as the custodian of this Centre. The following activities have been organized at the Centre:

1. Deved Trust continued to run teacher development sessions on the school administration module. 10 schools represented by two educators each participated in these sessions.
2. A winter school was run for 124 Learners to demystify technology and create more awareness. An attendance register is attached.
3. Sessions where held with unemployed teachers on possible roles they can play at the centre. A basic pc literacy Course was arranged for them to improve their skills in order to contribute more effectively in the programmes at the center.
4. Internet Connectivity is still being pursued with Telkom. Telkom is currently erecting poles. The lines are not yet strung to the center. The date provided for installation by Telkom staff on site is late November/early December 2001. The reason given for the delay is that the infrastructure at the nearest exchange is being revamped and some parts take longer to reach the area by truck and rail.
5. A second teacher development training session will be held in Vuwane in 2002.
